Born in 1900 in Hainan's Lehui (today's Qionghai), Zhou Shidi graduated from the Huangpu Military Academy and participated in the Northern Expedition and the Nanchang Uprising as a division commander. In 1934, he became a teacher at the Red Army University at the central revolutionary base, served as staff officer of the 15th Combined Corps and chief of staff of the Second Front Red Army, and joined the Long March later. The diary has 10 pages, recording the battles Zhou Shidi participated in when and after the Red Army crossed the Yellow River in February 1936.Zhou Shidi donated his diary to the Military Museum in July 1960.
