Ho Chi Minh (1890-1969) was originally named Nguyen Tat Thanh, alias Nguyen Ai Quoc. He founded the Communist Party of Vietnam in 1930 in Hong Kong, organized the Vietnamese Revolutionary League for Independence in 1941, and led the anti-France and anti-Japanese war. He formed the Democratic Republic of Vietnam in the north of the country in 1945 and was elected chairman of the temporary government. In March of the next year, he was elected chairman and prime minister of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam. From 1945 to 1969, Ho Chi Minh led the anti-France and anti-America war successively. He organized activities for the liberation of Vietnam in the Chinese mainland in his early years and forged deep friendship with CPC leaders such as Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai and Deng Xiaoping. The pistol was used by Ho Chi Minh during China's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and was later donated to the Museum of Vietnam.It was transferred from the Museum of Vietnam to the Military Museum.
