Vice Admiral Goga Keijiro, then Garrison Commander of Hainan, gave the saber to Lieutenant General Han Liancheng at the surrender in 1945. Han Liancheng was Defense Commander of Hainan Island around 1945. He broke away from the KMT army in 1948 and went to the CPC’s liberated areas.
The Military Museum collected the item from Han Liancheng in 1958.
