Deng Xiaoping used this Mauser pistol during the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the War of Liberation. The pistol was developed by Mauser in Germany after the First World War had ended and came into mass production in 1921.
Deng submitted this pistol to the Security Office of the Central Guard Bureau after the founding of the P.R. China. It was transferred to the Military Museum in 1980.
