On June 26, 1975, Deng Xiaoping, vice chairman of the Central Military Commission and chief of general staff of the PLA, accompanied foreign guests to inspect the 106 ship of the PLA Navy and wrote an inscription for the Navy at Shanghai Naval Base. The inscription reads, "Resolutely implement the great initiative of Chairman Mao and work hard to build a strong navy! Deng Xiaoping, June 26, 1975."

In January 1978, it wastransferred to the Military Museum of the Chinese People’s Revolution by the Political Department of the PLA Navy.
