The Military Museum consists of one main museum and two branches at three venues. In light of the construction plan of the Chinese military history museum in the new era, the basic layout of the military museum is planned as thus: The main museum features the display of the PLA history and the military history of Chinese nation; the Tongzhou branch highlights the history of the world military; and the Huairou branch mainly displays the armaments. The exhibition is housed in the three halls on the third floor in the northern flank of the exhibition building. The exhibits are largely artworks on military themes in the museum’s collection and are divided to the halls of oil painting, sculpture and traditional Chinese painting, which occupy an area of 3,693 square meters and display a total of 140 items.
